Coach Riese Niehaus grew up in Longmont, Colorado where he played youth hockey in the state of CO. He played for the California Titans 16U AAA before playing Jr. hockey. After a career altering injury, Riese turned to coaching.

He coached for the Colorado Rampage working with age groups from 8 and Under to 18U AAA, where he worked as an assistant and head coach with Tier 1 teams as well as being one of the programs goaltending coaches. Alongside coaching, Riese became the Director of Hockey Operations and Player Personnel for the Rampage where he optimized program development and operations. He has coached players that have gone on to play in the NAHL, USHL, BCHL and NCAA as well as helping goaltenders play at the next levels.

Coach Riese has a passion for player development and mentorship and prioritizes moving players to the next level and teaching them the layers of the game.
